Recertification is required every five years to maintain "active" Certification. Recertification may be accomplished by re-testing or by the continuing medical education (CME) method.
You are due to recertify five years from your certification date. If needed, you have an additional year grace period to submit your credits, after which date you will need to retest and pay a $50 reactivation fee. You will be considered "inactive" (not certified) during the grace period.
